TK Maxx an all day extravaganza

I have a bit of history with TK Maxx but not in the way you might think. I once went for a job at their Head Office in Watford doing something very unglamorous and much to my chagrin, the confidence I had in my own abilities and their confidence in them didn’t quite marry up so that was that!

So possessing a concilitory nature, I found myself on Tuesday 6th September on my way to a bloggers lunch hosted by TK Maxx in Panoramic private members bar at the top of Centrepoint in London’s Tottenham Court Road. It was mainly out of curiosity to be honest as I thought it was going to be a few canapes and a couple of non alcoholic cocktails and it made a change from Pret- it was lunchtime after all!

Imagine my surprise when it turned out to be a wonderful 3 course lunch hosted by those lovely TK Maxx folk and Fluorescent PR. We were feted and treated like important people and I personally had a brilliant time. I loved chatting to the other bloggers, Jade of the StyleRawr and Emily Devine, Helen Head of PR for TK Maxx as well as their inspirational and dynamic Head Buyer – Sophia (you’ll have seen her in the ads living a very exciting life).

After the lunch we headed to the AW11 preview of their designer collection and I can tell you now, we are all in for a treat. There are pieces from Philip Lim, Miu Miu, Antik Batik, Moschino to name but a few all at extremely competitive prices.

If like me you thought TK Maxx only ‘did’ last year, well you couldn’t be more wrong, they also do current pieces (both are clearly labelled current and past on the price tags). They never know (and thats even those in the know) what is going to come in or be delivered next so the advice from those wise folks is to keep going in and checking and you will definitely come across a gem or too at some stage.

Sophia and her team of buyers (there are over 200) scour the world looking for great bargains and pieces to adorn our wardrobes. I liked them and I liked the day and I felt slightly wistful that it could have been me all those years ago!

Here are some pics of the lunch and collections.

Thanks very much to one and all.

Have a nosy if you haven’t already seen it on T.V. of  the AW11 UK TV advert

PS: – And even though its very last summer dahlink, I thought you might like to see Sophia the Head Buyer in action girl mode!
